Bert Blitz New York, New York
Bert Blitz is a past president of New York State Trial Lawyers Association, a group consisting of thousands of lawyers throughout the State that all represent people injured through the fault of someone else. The group works to preserve the jury system throughout the State. Bert is one of two past presidents of this association that we count as our partners. Bert has achieved significant successes in all types of personal injury litigation. He has one of the highest verdicts ever recorded in the State of Maryland for a baby born with cerebral palsy as a result of medical malpractice. Bert is a tireless advocate on behalf of injured plaintiffs. He has represented only plaintiffs throughout his career and, at one time, was partnered with the legendary Al Julian. No plaintiff can have a better representative then Bert Blitz. His career has been full of David-versus-Goliath-type battles, and he has consistently prevailed. Bert is assisted in the handling of all his cases by his secretary Estelle Pace and his paralegal Frances Rolon (pictured above with him). Should Bert be out of the office, you can feel comfortable talking to Estelle or Francis about your case. Significant Victories $9,500,000 verdict for twins who both had cerebral palsy as a result of obstetrical malpractice. $10,000,000 verdict for a man who dove into a wave off a pylon at Rockaway Beach and was rendered a quadriplegic. $2,000,000 settlement for his infant client who was brain damaged due to malpractice during the mother's pregnancy. The physicians at the hospital ignored all indications of the baby being in distress and did not perform a C-section to induce birth, which would have prevented the infant's brain damage. $3,500,000 verdict for a man injured when his Jeep rolled over. $1,500,000 settlement for the family of a young mother who ultimately died when her tuberculosis went undiagnosed. $1,200,000 verdict for a man hit by a UPS truck. $2,000,000 settlement for a boy badly injured during a fire when the smoke alarm in his apartment malfunctioned and did not sound.
